If you've ever had a Beagle, then you know what a wonderful dog they are. Lovable and loyal, their personalities make them an ideal family pet. For those who hunt, this breed is a good choice because of their incredible sense of smell and their tenaciousness.
If you are thinking about getting a Beagle or any other dog, it's important to do your research. There are many things to consider when getting one, and you want to make a good choice. If you've already gotten your Beagle, then you are going to need a name. There are so many fun ones to choose from.
How to Choose a Name for Your Beagle
Like humans and other animals, Beagles all have distinct characteristics. Before you choose a name, take a few days to observe your new best friend and consider a few things.
- What does he look like?
- What does she like to do?
- What does he like to eat?
- Does she remind you of something?
Hopefully, you will have your buddy for many years, so take your time picking out that perfect name.

Fantasy Dog Names
Fantasy Dog Names In Pop Culture
Hailing from Terry Pratchett‘s illustrious Discwrlorld series, Gaspode is a small, terrier type dog with the uncanny ability to think and speak just like a human being. Gaspode is quite clever and charming, but he is unfortunately also a stray dog who’s had his fair share of bad experiences with people. As such, he tries to avoid direct contact with mortal men and women unless he finds it to be absolutely necessary. By his own admission, Gaspode has become incredibly wary of humans due to the number of times he’s seen them mistreat average, non sapient stray dogs. Indeed, one can only imagine how the average person might react when they encounter a dog that’s smarter than they are.
Despite Gaspode’s typical aversion to most humans, he tends to spend a fair amount of time with the Canting Crew, a group of beggars that treat the small stray dog rather kindly and don’t seem to mind his unnatural yet fascinating abilities. As a matter of fact, one particular member of the Canting Crew, Foul Ole Ron, often discusses complex matters with Gaspode and follows the dog’s lead in cerebral affairs. In a manner of speaking, Gaspode does most of the heavy lifting for the Canting Crew when it comes to thinking and planning out there schemes, making him a valuable asset to the crew.
Having an overall snarky and cynical disposition, Gaspode often likes to mess with passersby when he's on the move, fully saying onomatopoeias like "woof", "bark", or "growl" rather than simply making the sounds like a normal dog. He does this because he's fully aware that most people will just write off his strange behavior as a sort of freak occurrence rather than come to the conclusion that the small, mangy terrier that just passed them by actually said the words "bark" or "arf", most people will simply rationalize the experience as a construct of their own minds playing tricks on them.
Gaspode's cynicism also extends to his thoughts towards other dogs, as he believes that instances in which dogs have seemingly performed feats that cement their loyalty all have logical and less romantic explanations behind them. For instance, Gaspode's namesake is actually taken from The Famous Gaspode, a dog who became revered for visiting his master's grave and howling continuously until dog passed away. Skeptical of the story, the modern day Gaspode holds that his namesake had remained at his masters' grave site and howled until his own end due to his tail being pinned underneath a tombstone.
